Mary and Walker Connor were my maternal grandparents, and they traveled the world a lot when they graced the planet with their presence. One person they befriended is a painter by the name of Selwyn in Wales. One incredible drawing he did was of my grandfather sitting in his chair on the porch--a frequent spot for grandma--and it was sort of famous in the family as it captured him so well.
The issue was that their 3 children (my mother and two uncles) didn't have one of their mother. With each of them passing, I thought it was important to make a memory of their mother in a similar style. Now the drawings sit next to each other, the original one of my grandfather done by Selwyn and mine of my grandmother that mimics Selwyn's style.
