I had been hauling a lot of this wood around for over half a decade... from shop to shop to shop. I finally decided that this must become something, so, I made it into a desk for my wife and myself. I feel like it is thematically all over the place, and it isn't my favorite piece--not even close--but it holds a special place in my heard for trying to give use to a beautiful material. My personal favorite part is turning the maple piece into drawers; that and the surpring strength and rigidity to the shelf (a vertical piece of maple was added to the back via a Kreig Jig and screws. It held it's shape fine over many years until we moved and we couldn't fit this 9 foot long beast anywhere).
